Crop classification maps of Wielkopolska test site

Classification of crops for the test site was important as the ground measurements and the maps of bio-parameters have been done for the JECAM site in Poland. The Joint Experiment for Crop Assessment and Monitoring (JECAM) was created by the GEO Agriculture Monitoring Community of Practice; the specific area in Poland is Wielkopolska test site. The crop classification has been done on the basis of Sentinel-2 data, using object-oriented approach. Eight crop types were classified: winter cereals, spring cereals, rape, maize, potatoes, beets, alfalfa, meadows, as well as three non-agricultural categories: forests, water and built-up land.
